Toronto, ON – June 25, 2024 - The World Urban Pavilion in Regent Park - Powered by Daniels is thrilled to announce the launch of our SDG Cities Report Series. The Pavilion is a strategic collaboration between the Urban Economy Forum (UEF), UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).

The World Urban Pavilion aligns with global agendas such as Agenda 2030, SDGs, and the New Urban Agenda, enhancing urban sustainability through innovation and practical solutions. The SDG Cities Report Series exemplifies this commitment, providing insights into how Canadian cities address these challenges with city-specific data and innovative approaches, fostering transformative change.

This release marks a major milestone for the Pavilion and for Canada, strengthening sustainable urban development across the country by sharing and advocating innovation, best practices, and exemplary examples. Together, these reports narrate the evolving impact of urban transformation in Canada, while highlighting the Pavilion's role as a global knowledge exchange hub. The SDG Cities Canada Report offers a panoramic view of cities' progress with SDG implementation, showcasing successes and areas for improvement. In tandem, the complimentary report, 100+: 'Made in Canada' Urban Innovations and Transformations, delves into specific initiatives, illustrating how cities collaborate with the private sector and leverage multidisciplinary approaches to effect meaningful change in people's lives. Collectively, these reports underscore the pivotal role of Canadian cities in advancing sustainable urbanization and sharing innovative practices globally.

The Pavilion will continue to work with these city and industry leaders, showcasing their inspiring examples at the national and global scales, expanding its network of urban experts and actors implementing best practices, and advocating the creative capital of Canadian urbanisation as models for other cities and regions to follow.

The SDG Cities Report Series includes:

  1. Our Impact Report for 2023/24: Highlights the Pavilion's response to challenges with innovative solutions, emphasizing partnerships and synergies to advance urban sustainability.
