Honorable Minister Ahmed Hussen Visited the World Urban Pavilion & Unveiled the Canada Frontrunner Compendium
The Honorable Ahmed Hussen, MP, Minister of International Development and honorary chair of the World Urban Pavilion in regent Park powered by The Daniels Corporation, visited the Pavilion, where he launched Canada Frontrunner Compendium. During his visit, the Compendium Book was officially unveiled, highlighting the first year of the 100+ Solutions for Climate Resilient Cities Initiative. This comprehensive compendium showcased innovative urban strategies from around the world, serving as a vital resource for policymakers, researchers, and city leaders.
As we move forward, we are preparing for the second version of the Canada Frontrunner: 100+ Urban Profiles of Canada on Sustainability.
The Honorable Minister "emphasized the critical role of the World Urban Pavilion as a transformative hub for advancing urban sustainability and innovation. He highlighted the need for the Government of Canada to actively support and advocate for the Pavilion, recognizing it as a key platform for driving sustainable urban development at both national and global levels. Additionally, he acknowledged the Urban Economy Forum (UEF) as a progressive organization committed to developing and expanding impactful platforms. He emphasized that UEF's approach, in collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, presents a unique opportunity for Canada to lead in sustainable development and urban transformation."
During the meeting, the Honorable minister announced the following key platforms:

✅DUQM-Solar International Initiative | Transforming Industrial Cities – Behzad Sharifi Kalangestani
✅World Trade Nexus (WTN) – KAMRAN ESPILI
✅Health Global Platform on Urban SDGs (Health GP) – Dr. Vahid Sadr & Marc Kealey
✅Canada National Urban Forum (CANUF) – Hanieh Riahi
Prior to this, in a special meeting with the minister, Reza Pourvaziry (Chair of UEF), Eduardo Moreno – Co-director of World Urban Pavilion, and Kaveh Madani ,Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment, and Health, key initiatives were discussed, with a particular focus on "WORLD STATION." It was agreed to review it in the next international meeting of ministers, with the Minister of International Development attendance.
